What works, what's stubborn (iPlayer)

In our testing TorGuard handles Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and Max reasonably well — but "works" and "stable" are not the same thing; shared servers can be blocked at any time. BBC iPlayer is the most stubborn case because it detects VPNs especially aggressively, and TorGuard itself does not guarantee iPlayer over regular servers. If iPlayer is your main reason for subscribing, the most dependable route is the Streaming IP add-on.

Router setup for Smart TV / consoles

Most Smart TVs and consoles such as PlayStation and Xbox cannot install the TorGuard app. The solution TorGuard recommends is configuring the VPN directly on your router: once the router connects to TorGuard, every device on that Wi-Fi — including the TV and the game console — routes through the VPN automatically. If a Streaming IP add-on is attached to your account, it applies on the TV too, with no per-device configuration.

When a server gets blocked

If playback suddenly stops, it is usually because a shared server's IP was blacklisted by the platform. Work through these steps in order: switch to another server in the same country, clear your browser cache and cookies, disable WebRTC to prevent leaks, and verify there are no DNS/IP leaks at dnsleaktest.com. If it still won't play and the service matters to you, buying the Streaming IP add-on is the most direct fix because it ends the server-hopping for good.
