On HostNeverDie's DirectAdmin platform you can use the built-in free Let's Encrypt DV certificate (the choice most users pick), or a wildcard certificate for *.domain.com issued through the same Let's Encrypt module after completing a DNS challenge.
For organizations that require OV or EV validation, you must contact the team to order and install a commercial certificate separately. A SAN/multi-domain certificate is also an option if you host several websites under one account.
How to enable free Let's Encrypt
Let's Encrypt on HostNeverDie is issued through the built-in DirectAdmin module. Log in to DirectAdmin, open Account Manager → SSL Certificates, choose "Free & automatic certificate from Let's Encrypt", tick the domain and www entries you want covered, then save.
Each certificate is valid for 90 days, but the system renews it automatically before expiry. After issuance, enable the option to use the certificate for the website on the same DirectAdmin page.
Forcing HTTPS after install
Once the certificate is ready, force every request through https://. The simplest way on HostNeverDie is to tick "Force SSL with https redirect" on the DirectAdmin SSL Certificates page.
On Apache shared plans you can instead add an .htaccess redirect, and on the Elementor-bundled WordPress plan the Really Simple SSL plugin enforces HTTPS automatically. Use only one of these methods to avoid a redirect loop.
Renewal and monitoring
The Let's Encrypt module in HostNeverDie's DirectAdmin handles renewal before expiry on its own, so you rarely need to touch it. You can check the expiry date on the SSL Certificates page at any time.
Renewal usually fails only when a domain points away from HostNeverDie's servers or a CAA record blocks the CA. Because the team monitors servers around the clock, they can flag certificate problems and you can re-issue manually from the same page.
Troubleshooting SSL on HostNeverDie
A "Not Secure" warning after issuing a certificate usually means Mixed Content; on the WordPress plan Really Simple SSL fixes it automatically. An expired certificate is solved by re-issuing on the DirectAdmin SSL Certificates page.
If Let's Encrypt fails to issue, confirm the domain points to HostNeverDie's IP and no CAA record blocks the request; wildcard issuance additionally requires completing the DNS challenge. If a certificate does not cover a subdomain, issue an extra Let's Encrypt certificate for it or switch to a wildcard.
