CactusVPN runs a compact, curated network — servers in 25 countries rather than thousands of nodes — so we focused our Thailand tests on the genuinely nearby nodes instead of sweeping every country. With unlimited bandwidth and a fixed base line, we measured relative speed (% of base) and latency tiers on WireGuard versus the legacy SoftEther and SSTP protocols, averaged over several runs at different times of day.

US and EU nodes sit far from Thailand, so latency climbs to the hundreds-of-ms tier and retained download speed drops with the distance.
